The TCYS show is held at the Expo Center in eastern Travis County. TCYS is open to residents/students of Travis County in good standing. All rules and deadlines for this show can be found on the TCYS website at www.traviscountyyouthshow.org
Bowie-Austin FFA Students can participate in TCYS by either submitting a Youth Fair Project or by raising and showing a market animal project through the Livestock Show.
Students can show their creativity through projects ranging from baked goods to art. Some of these projects will be eligible for sale where the student can earn money for their item.
The Bowie Tent (Camp Bowie) serves as home base to the Bowie Community. We welcome all family, friends and the TCYS Board. Animals require constant supervision while the Show Barn is open, so please bring your own chairs and plan to spend the day. We are located in the parking lot at the North- East Entrance of the Show Barn between the Youth Fair Exhibit Building and the Show Barn. We ask for donations and assistance with the tent area so all parents have the opportunity to watch their children show.
The Bowie-Austin FFA Alumni is planning a fabulous array of cuisine variations, the cost will be $10 per person to purchase a meal wristband which will cover meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) for three days (Thursday, Friday, Saturday). All those enjoying eats and drinks at the tent will require a wristband, including friends and family. We realize that some friends and family may only come for a day or two but at $10 per person it is still a great deal verses the expensive Expo food. Team Bowie will provide the main meals but everyone likes to snack (a lot) between meals so we need a well-stocked tent. We ask that each family donate snack items.
We ask for Volunteers to assist with the grill and food area. We have a great group of Students and Parents, please work together to help keep the area clean and sanitary
Each year the Alumni Officers ask for all FFA Student Members and Junior Members to donate drinks for the TCYS weekend. We request that each student provide at least one assigned 24 -36 pack of soda. Drinks will be available at the Camp Bowie Tent Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Please bring all drinks to Mr. Pierce's AG room no later than Monday 1/9/17. Please use the following donation assignment:
